Aquí tenemos al gorgojo de las malvas (Lixus angustatus), un curculiónido de apenas 1 cm. muy curioso que llama la atención, de buenas a primeras, porque si le googleas la mayor parte de las fotos son de una pareja en la cópula. Como ésta.

En esta especie, la que trabaja es la hembra: fijáos que ella tiene la trompa negra, mientras que él la tiene de un color amarill verdoso, al igual que el resto del cuerpo. Esto es porque es ella la que se pasa el día agujereand la planta de las malvas para alimentarse.

Otra curiosidad acerca de estos gorgojos es el dramatismo: cuando ven un depredador, se hacen los muertos enrrollándose sobre sí mismos en una pelotita y dejándose caer por las hojas de las malvas hasta el suelo.
